|
Yokohama ADVAN Sport is a max performance summer tire. For sports cars, sports coupes, and performance sedans. Original Equipment (OE) on select vehicles like the Bentley Continental GT, Bentley Flying Spur, and Porsche 977 Carrera 4. Like all summer tires, it is intended for use in dry and wet conditions, not snow or ice.
Yokohama designed the ADVAN Sport to offer performance at a very high level, giving not only excellent handling and steering response, but also exceptional wet pavement traction, and a comfortable ride. Plus tha ability to handle very high speeds.
Yokohama ADVAN Sport Features
• Asymmetric tread design and the industry's first nanotechnology tread compound provide unprecedented grip in wet and dry conditions across various temperature ranges
• Yokohama's newest Polymer/Silica/Carbon Nanotechnology tread compound bonds super-fine, high-grade silica and polymers at the molecular level to increase flexibility, durability and contact area by approximately 10% for better wet and dry traction through a variety of temperature ranges
• Variable round grooves cut in a round shape at different widths and angles prevent one-sided abrasion and maximize performance on wet surfaces
• Sidewall construction of the ADVAN Sport features high-stiffness bead filler, sidewall compounds and steel reinforcements to improve high-speed capabilities and handling
• Rayon ply construction from rayon strips (chosen because of their stable nature to protect against heat) then wound at a 50% overlap creating a jointless, double layered ply
• Triple-edge overlapped cap plies, placed in an S pattern, with two layers formed at the shoulders. A second cap ply is then added, creating three layers at the shoulders and two layers across the middle of the tread for enhanced durability at extreme speeds
• Four wide circumferential grooves quickly and efficiently evacuate water for enhanced wet traction
• Groove-in-groove configuration: finely cut into the walls of the four main grooves, small grooves control the stress to the block to promote even wear
